About the Author

Christopher S. Kilham has taught yoga, meditation, and natural health since 1978. Known for his appearances as the Medicine Hunter on the Dr. Oz Show, CNN Health, and FOX News Health, he has conducted medicinal research in more than 30 countries across 5 continents and the South Pacific. The author of many articles and several books, including Hot Plants, Kava: Medicine Hunting in Paradise, and The Whole Food Bible, he lives in Leverett, Massachusetts.

About the Reviews

This book is a wonderful introduction to the simple, but powerful Yoga series originally called the Five Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation. The series is presented clearly, but without modifications. So if you are interested in helpful adaptions, I suggest Carolinda Witt's book, T5T, the 10 minute rejuvenation plan. However, this book and its oceanside photos of the author in the poses was my inspiration to try them and to learn more!

I teach Yoga and have incorporated this series into my daily practice. I have also shared it with many students (with some modifications.) I started slow with 3 reps of each and gradually added more over the months of practice to build to 21 reps of each move. No more is recommended. The Rites affect the energy as well as the body. This series has worked well for me and has resulted in an increase in strength, stamina, and well being. Beneficial at any age. I am retired. I am so glad to have this book! This Five Tibetan Rights routine is powerful to say the least. After doing consistently for about 2 weeks, I can feel the energy building in the lower back/spine area and a sense of warmth accompanies the energy. This is explained via chakras and the purpose of the routine. Very simple but profound and noticeable. I have done various forms of yoga, ti chi, qi gong, etc, and this routine seems to have some of the fastest results that I have noticed. I highly recommend this book and I like the purposeful and to the point chapters. Read up on this routine and the start each right slowly, building to the suggested 21 reps. Practice each day and you will see and feel what it can offer.

Very simple. Very clear instructions, no questions about what to do or how to do it. Memorized them in a few sessions of doing it, referencing the book when needed. Also includes the 6th Tibetan as a bonus, and some other short meditation bits at the end. If you're looking for the Five Tibetans (5 yogas for being healthier), this is it.

You will look silly doing these, and people will ask questions. This book tells you why you're doing what you do, so you can satisfy people's curiosity quite well. They may even start to do them!
