It's Battle Rounds time on "The Voice," which means it's time for vocalists to have sing-offs inside a stage made to look like a boxing ring.

But this week, with coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and newbie John Legend, the battles were more like loving duets than head-to-head duels.

Battle No. 7, in particular, had "a kindness to it," as coach Legend said of his singers, Savannah Brister, 17, and Maelyn Jarmon, 26.

"You weren’t trying to out-sing each other," he said, "You were trying to do the best you could do."

And the best that they could do, in a duet of Adele's "When We Were Young," was gorgeous and goosebump-worthy. The song got an immediate standing ovation from Clarkson and then the rest of the coaches.
