Canadian Scott Wellenbach recently raked in $671,240 at a poker tournament in the Bahamas, and he’s giving it to charity.
The 67-year-old from Halifax, Novia Scotia, who works as a translator of Buddhist documents, says he’s donating the cash he won after finishing third at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event due to a pact he made with the “poker gods.”
"The deal that I have with them … has been an excellent one and I will do nothing to change it,” he told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. “I might start losing."
