It turns out, acting like you aren’t interested in sex, works. At least, for men.

In a new study titled “Adjusting Signals of Sexual Interest in the Most Recent Naturally Occurring Opposite-Sex Encounter in Two Different Contexts,” researchers found that men are more successful (at least, sexually) if they aren’t trying to have sex. The survey focused on 435 undergraduates, and how they acted when they were dating, as well as how they changed their signals of romantic interest. The participants were provided surveys asking about their last encounter with a potential sexual partner and how interested they thought that person was in them. They also shared sexual signals they received from the potential partner as well as any they conveyed.
